“Doktorova Kashta” offers 3 large studio rooms with 2-4 bed, fully equipped kitchen, private bathroom / toilet and air conditioners. Every room is equipped with satellite TV (Bulsatcom) and Wi-Fi. Beneath the big house there is the snack bar of “Doktorova Kashta” which offers a constantly-renewing menu from the traditional Bulgarian cuisine, seafood specialties. Breakfast and other meals from the kitchen are prepared upon request.

Except the snack bar, “Doktorova Kashta” has a small, but well- stocked shop, which is always available for guests of the house.

This spectacular site offers scuba-divers from all over the world a large number of underwater and surface caves, huge underwater rocks, reefs and canyons. The Sea coast is inaccessible for divers from the shore to the legendary Cape Shabla – located 5 km off the centre to the North and to the sea resort ” Roussalka ” – situated 10 km off the centre to the South.

The Premises: The Diving Centre affords 6 independent rooms with lovely view to the sea. Each room is furnished with a bathroom/WC. Also, it provides a detached kitchen with a dining-room, a conference hall and a spacious panoramic terrace. A high speed boat, a fishing boat and 3 compressors for filling of the scuba tanks add to the comfort of the Centre.

What We Offer: The centre organizes underwater trips and diving courses for all categories starting from a 1-star-diver to a 3-star-diving instructor. Upon completion of the course divers receive certificates from IDA and CMAS – Germany.

It’s quite an usual fact for myself to loose some of the motivation for hard sport climbing during the scorching summer days. I’d rather go cycling, swimming, caving, trekking than sweating on crimpers in an awkward position up on the crux on some crazy route.

Fortunately for me, and many climbers alike, there is one activity that has both the climbing and the summery fun appeal – DWS (deep water soloing). I first learned about DWS some 6 – 7 years ago when I watched the Psicobloc video featuring Klem Loskot and his gang in Mallorca. It really made a powerful impression on me; I was in awe watching the video many times over and I started day dreaming about me and my friends doing the same wild dynos.

With this new temptation rapidly rooted into our souls we began searching the internet for venues closer to Romania where one can enjoy deep water soloing. Soon enough we found out that Bulgaria had some nice spots for this activity, no further than 50 km from our border. We also found a fellow climber (Nushu) from Brasov who went there, so we had almost all the necessary info to go and check it out for ourselves.

It was no sooner than another few years after this that we finally arrived at Tyulenovo – the small village on the seaside – hot spot for DWS in Bulgaria. Four cars, 18 people, lots of sun, warm sea (Black Sea), beautiful cliffs, a colony of cormorants, a nice beach at Shabla (6 Km North of Tyolenovo) – all this contributed to the joy of our trip which lasted three days. Cliff jumping and bathing were the basic activities; we didn’t climb on hard lines due to the big waves which hit against the rock with brute force, spraying high on the cliffs.

We followed easy routes for getting out of the water (5a – 6b) just to jump in again, in greater style. No one pushed himself/herself too hard on cruxy lines as one uncontrollable fall could have resulted in injuries – if water is still it’s far more comfortable to try harder routes but this wasn’t the case while we were there.

I can only hope for us to make another trip with at least the number of members that we had last year (summer 2008). One thing is for sure when DWS is on the menu: the bigger the crowd, the greater the courage for the climber/jumper and more fun for the whole team.

An Austrian rock climber has perished after falling off a 4-meter rock nearby the Bulgarian village of Tyulenovo on the Black Sea.

Tyulenovo, nearby the town of Shabla on the northern Bulgarian Black Sea, boasts some of the most spectacular high-rock coastline.

The 27-year-old Austrian citizen apparently died from drowning after falling into the sea from the rock.

It is still not clear what caused the fall, as the young man was an experienced climber, was familiar with the site, and was secured by a rope.

Among the possible reasons is the high degree of erosion on the rock.

The village is a paradise for holiday lovers, it is suitable for sea fishing and underwater tourism and it is close to the virgin beaches and dunes near Shabla, by the lakes of Shabla and Durankulak. “Orbita” Hotel, village of Tyulenovo, offers a holiday in 11 rooms – 6 double (with a double bed or with two single beds), 3 triple (three single beds) and 2 quadruple (one double and two single beds). Each room is tastefully decorated in its own unique style.

Each hotel room has a private terrace with a wonderful view of the beach before Tyulenovo. The rooms are grouped into suites, where the sanitary unit is common to all rooms in the apartment. Some rooms are equipped with air conditioning and TV with Bulsatcom cable.

Active holidaymakers are offered a boat trip, fishing or diving. Furthermore, the guests have at their disposal wireless Internet, a restaurant – barbecue with a fully equipped summer kitchen and seating for 20 people and a small pool. The hotel is open all year round.

On the first floor you will find the “Orbita” bistro with 26 seats indoors and 20 outdoors. The bistro offers a varied menu with 32 salads, soups, fresh fish, cooked dishes (lunch menu), and only here – CRABS. There is a large TV with Bulsatcom for fans.

The price per night is BGN 15.00 per bed in a room without air-conditioning and BGN 20.00 per bed in a room with air-conditioning.

Despite the high and steep waterside, nature is generous enough and provides stunning rocky spots for bathing, starting from the beautiful bay in the village, where a few fishing boats are anchored, and continuing up to places such as the so-called “Ashalak”, “Kipria”, “Dupkata” (from Bulgarian: the hole), “Martina”.

Ten kilometers away you will find beaches, which are almost deserted, with magnificent dunes, whereas only a few km is the so-called Small Sea (Malkoto More), a natural shallow bay shaped as a pool in the rocks between Cape Shabla and Tyulenovo.

The “Delfina” is a newish hotel, furnished in a contemporary style that creates a cozy and pleasant atmosphere for the guests. It has 8 double and 2 triple rooms, 22 beds in total. Each room is equipped with cable TV, Wi-Fi, air conditioning and separate bathroom. Most rooms have balconies overlooking the cove with boats in front of Tyulenovo. The hotel is open all year round, and you may also rent a bicycles here.

The hotel’s Restaurant “Delfina” has 40 seats indoor and a summer terrace, offering seating for 60 people, overlooking the sea. It offers traditional cuisine, fresh Black Sea fish (fried and grilled), lunch menu of made dishes during the summer. Together with the restaurant hotel “Delfina” is an ideal place for a holiday and recovery. It is suitable for family celebrations, children’s parties, corporate gatherings and team building.

The house has two bedrooms with air-conditioners. Into the bigger bedroom are 4 sleeping places – double bedroom suite and double extending sofa. Into the little bedroom are 3 places for sleep – single bed and double bed. The house is suitable for accommodation of two families with children.

In spacious living-room our guests will find kitchen, dining-room and hall, lied on two levels. The kitchen is equipped with all necessary: refrigerator, hot-plate, oven, aspiration system, dish-washer machine, machine for black coffee, microwave oven, toaster, electric grill and barbeque for outdoor use. Into the dining room has tables and chairs for 12 persons.

In the living-room are air-conditioner, LCD TV player, Audio player (СD-flash-cassette-radio), washing machine, iron and vacuum-cleaner. Into the house are two WC/baths, separate from the bedrooms.

The house has connection with Internet.

In the east side of the house are large open-air terrace. The yard around the house is beautiful garden and playground for you and your children where you can play football and different open-air games. For good sanitation, please no smoke and don`t take pets in the house.

You can rent only the whole house for more than 3 evenings.
